Assuming no criminal history, they'll go easy and give him light prison time. But as the lone wolf who took it to trail, he's not going to serve less than the confessors did. Fed's have a lot invested in this. Prosecutors gonna cowboy-up for sentencing.
He'll have plenty of time to write his book.

i'm not a law dude, but i would imagine that he has some "pretty clear instructions" on not leaving the US (prior to sentencing).. i missed da poll, but i'll say 1 to 2 yrs (for his "hubris").. if he'd gone along he would've done what? 6 months?? lame (imho)

Wilson who was convicted by a jury got 15 months so I'd guess that Vavic would get more than that.

They seem very pro Vavic, even calling this poll ghoulish. I'm not sure how stating the obvious, that Vavic is likely to get more time than Wilson is ghoulish?
I also think they miss that it is the criminal corruption and financial doping that is the source of outrage and not that is was by USC specifically. I spoke to a parent of a former USC player yesterday and he hoped Vavic got a very significant sentence as his actions have undermined water polo, the USC program and by extension his son's achievements.

What a joke of an article, Randazzo must have a soft spot for Lance Armstrong too.

It was very strange. The writer says justice was done but seems to hate that it was. The writer also doesn't know what irony is.
"Ironically, Wilson’s son was admitted to Southern Cal to play polo for the Trojans but quit the team after his first semester."
It wasn't ironic. It was exactly as intended.

Whatever Jovan gets, or Wilson got, it won't matter. They will do a perfunctory stint in a jail setting and then serve their time under house arrest and probation.
Sure, their travel options will be limited for a few years. But these aren't people being confined on house arrest to 1 bedroom apartments in the ghetto and living off of food stamps, who will inevitably violate their terms by smoking a joint to ease the stress and pissing dirty and then being put back behind bars. These are people who will be hanging out by their pools, conducting business in their home offices, watching movies in their theater rooms, working out in their home gyms, ordering uber eats, getting weekly or even daily passes to leave confinement and go to doctors, lawyers, therapists, and living 80% of a normal life while "serving their time" for a few years. Broken system.
Also I highly doubt USC sees much punishment beyond having a title or two rescinded, or maybe losing a scholarship for a year or two - but we all know scholarships aren't the only way they pay for players at USC. Man I'm feeling cynical this morning. I'll stop before I predict that Jovan returns to coaching in 5 years.
